On Friday November 6, 2015, "A Connoisseur’s Journey" was awarded Second Place in the Great Midwest Book Festival in the category of "Memoirs, Autobiography and Biography."
In addition, "A Connoisseur’s Journey" was selected FIRST in "Memoirs, Autobiography, and Biography" by the Southern California Book Festival.
Dr. Lant was previously been given a Lifetime Achievement Award with a focus on "A Connoisseur’s Journey" with this citation.

At first glance, "A Connoisseur’s Journey" may appear to be just about the author’s own life, and his collections. Imperceptible at first, Dr. Lant begins to play out a cleverly crafted masterpiece, intermingled with music, drawing you in, transfixing you into your own reality, that will, most assuredly, bring laughter, and tears.
When the full impact hits, that moment of discovery, that it is not only about life’s struggles, but your own life’s journey, it is with such a force that will grip your heart, and touch your very soul.
This Master of Prose, through his own memoirs, has the ability to weave his way into your own personal journey. This book is much like opening a photo-album, to re-visit your own memories. Each time you open it, you will have a new perspective, based on your life experiences. If it doesn’t hit you hard, you haven’t truly read it. I highly recommend that you do read it.
